Alcohol Inks and Acetate - Sweet2Repeat Blog Hop

Hey crafty friends! Today I am super excited to be sharing a card I created for the SugarPea Designs Sweet2Repeat Blog Hop! The whole design team is sharing inspiration with products from the latest release, and you can hop along for your chance to win a 20$ gift certificate to the SugarPea store! More on that at the end of this post :)

For this card I decided to use the Darling Dragons stamp set - I stamped all my images on Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers. I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

For the background I used Alcohol Inks in Denim and Cool Peri. I added a few drops on a piece of Yupo paper, and used some blending solution to help the inks move. Once  the inks were dry, because they remained a little sticky, I added a sheet of acetate on top of the yupo paper. The acetate stuck to the darker areas, where the alcohol inks are more concentrated and consequently more sticky. This produced a cool (and unexpected) stained glass effect. Talk about happy accidents! ;)

In order to set the scene I die cut some black cardstock with the SpookyScape dies, and added some highlights with prismacolor pencils. I also created a frame out of some more black cardstock with the Card Front Element Builder dies.
Finally, for the moon, I used one of the dies in the To Infinity and Beyond set, and did some coloring with Spectrum Noir markers.

I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder, and adhered everything to a top-folding A2 card base, and that finished off my card! And that's it for today! I really hope you guys liked this card and enjoyed this post. Don't forget to hop along and to comment on each post for your chance to win a 20$ gift certificate to the SugarPea Store!
