Storybook Card feat My Favorite Things Our Story

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a card I made for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #382 and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes. The Simon Says Stamp blog is showcasing MFT products for this week’s Wednesday Challenge, so this was the perfect combination for today’s card.

I decided to use the My Favorite Things Our Story stamp set and I wanted to create a card with a soft and a slightly rustic look. So instead of stamping my images with black ink I used Memento ink in Toffee Crunch, which is a light brown ink. I then colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers using muted shades so that I would get a more of a subdued feel.

I cut some watercolor cardstock using one of the dies in the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die-Namics set and did some ink smooshing with Distress Inks in Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo.

For the top of my card and for the sentiment strip I used Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and Memento ink in Toffee Crunch to stamp the books and the sentiment, and to shade the egdes of the paper as well.

And that’s it for today! I have to say that I am really happy with how this card turned out. It’s soft and cozy, and I like how the different elements work with each other. And I hope you like it too :)
I will be back soon with another fun project, and in the meantime I wish you all a great day!

Using Stamped Images in Shaker Cards - Create a Smile Stamps Challenge

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a shaker card I made for the new challenge on the Create a Smile Stamps blog. We had many great entries in the last challenge, and we look forward to your creations for this one!

The theme for this challenge finally gave me the opportunity to use the adorable Bear Mail stamp set - this bear is just too cute! I really love him!
I stamped the images in this set on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. I stamped many of the love letters because those will be my shaker elements.

For the shaker background I used Distress Oxides in Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio, and the Create a Smile Stamps Say It! stencil. I also added water droplets for a fun look.
The front of my shaker is cut from white heavyweight cardstock using dies by Studio Katia. The scalloped rectangle is part of the Dotted Patters Scallop Frames set, and the circular die I used to cut the window belongs to the Dotted Ballons set.

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. As a finishing touch I added some Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew to the heart on the post box and to those on the letters that I had glued on my card front.

I also created a video tutorial for this card, you can watch it on my YouTube channel. Don’t forget to let me know if you liked it by leaving a comment, and to subscribe if you want to see more content from me. :)

And that’s it for today! I really hope you guys liked this card and enjoyed the video. Remember that you can join in the challenge for a chance to win 25€ to be spent on the Create a Smile store. Here is the post where you can enter your creations, just make sure they follow the challenge rules, that I post here for your convenience.

Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Rustic Thank You Card feat Create a Smile Stamps and Tonic Studios Mica Mists

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a quick post showing you a card I made for the Simon Says Stamp  Wednesday Challenge Sparkle and Shine. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I recently got the new Nuvo Mica Mists by Tonic Studios, and this challenge was the perfect opportunity to try them out. I also filmed a first impression video where I show them in action, and I hope I will manage to edit and upload it soon, so stay tuned for that!

For this card I decided to experiment and see how these sprays look when combined with heat embossed images and kraft cardstock.
So I stamped the branch from the Create a Smile Stamps Clustered Leaves set with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger Embossing Powder in Weathered White.
I then sprayed the entire panel with the Nuvo Mica Mists in Silver Smoke and Antique gold, making sure to go over the embossed image as well.

For my sentiment I used the Create a Smile Stamps Twice the Thanks dies to cut some vanilla cardstock. I covered the entire die cut piece with Versamark ink, I embossed it with the same Weathered White embossing powder I had used for the leaves, and sprayed it with my Mica Mists so that it would match with the rest of the card.
I then cut the panel with the largest die from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables die set and adhered it to a standard A2 card base.
I really love how this card turned out, and I think that the combination of these sprays with craft cardstock is absolutely gorgeous! Look at all the shimmer!

And that’s it for today! I really hope you guys liked this card and enjoyed the post. I will be back soon with another fun project and in the meantime I wish you all a great day!

Friendship Card feat Studio Katia Citrus Trimmings

Hi everyone! Today I am back on the Studio Katia blog with a friendship card I made using the Citrus Trimmings Clear Stamp Set.
I wanted to do some watercoloring of these beautiful images, so I heat embossed them with white embossing powder and painted them with Gansai Tambi watercolors.
I then used my scissors to cut along the top edges of my stamped images. For the lower edges I used the Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames Creative Dies so that I could obtain two strips that would fit on an A2 card base.

With the same die in the Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames Creative Dies I cut some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock,  and I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on this panel. I then adhered it flat to my card base, and I raised the two borders with the citruses using some fun foam.
As a final stepI glued some Studio Katia Clear Drops in different sizes all over the central portion of my card, and I really love the touch of light they give to the whole project!

I also created a video tutorial that will guide you through the card making process, if you are interested you can watch it on my YouTube channel.

And that's it for today! I really hope you liked the card and enjoyed the video, and I hope I inspired you to create with the beautiful Citrus Trimmings Clear Stamp Set. Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Adding Texture with Nuvo Mousses and Stencils - MFT Magical Dragons

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a card I made combining My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #380 and the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge Add Some Texture. I did the same for this card last week and it was a lot of fun, so I decided to do it again :)

I opted for Nuvo Mousses to add texture to my card, and used them with the My Favorite Things Abstract Stencil as it made me think of dragon scales.
I first inked some watercolor cardstock with Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemonade and Lucky Clover, adding water so that the colors would mix. I then used a spatula to apply my Nuvo Mousse in Citrus Green over the stencil.

While the Nuvo Mousse was drying I started working on my images. I stamped the knight and one of the dragons in the My Favorite Things Magical Dragons set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on some Neeneah Solar White 110lb cardstock and colored them with Spectrum Noir and Copic markers. I used shades of orange to achieve a nice contrast with my background so that the images would stand out. I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

Once the Nuvo Moussed had dried I die cut a circular panel using the Tonic Studios Layering Circles. I also cut some white cardstock with the Avery Elle Wonky Stiches dies and some watercolor cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables dies. I did some ink blending on the latter using Distress Oxide in Peacock Feathers and mounted everything on a white A2 card base.
I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on a strip of black cardstock, and I used craft foam to adhere that, as well as my images, on the card base. And look at the beautiful shimmer from the Nuvo Mousse 😍

And that’s it for today! I really hope you liked this card and enjoyed this post! I will be back soon with another fun project, and, in the meantime, I wish you all a great day!

Spring Card Set feat Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a set of cards I made for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge. Spring seems to have made its way to Germany, so I felt inspired to create with the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends and the Gleeful Garden stamp sets, that I bought last year but hadn’t had the chance to use. I also used the flower in the Stinkin’ Cute stamp set.

The theme for this challege was card sets, so I created three cards with the same basic structure, but with different color schemes.
For the globes I used the Ready, Set Snow stamp set and Shaker Add-On dies. The labels on the globes are from the Ready, Set, Shake stamp set, and for the wooden base I used one of the papers in the Knock on Wood 6x6” collection. I also used the Lawn Fawn Grassy Hillside Border dies for my grass panels.
I then colored my images. I stamped all the scene elements with  Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored them with Zig markers. For the sentiment labels I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Copic Markers because that gave me a more crisp result.

For my card base I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I used the second largest die in the set to cut some patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn Gotta Have Gingham 6x6” paper pad. and largest rectangle die to cut three A2 sized panel from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Spring collection.

I then assembled the three little scenes inside the globes, that I had coated with acetate, and adhered everything on a white A2 card base.
As a final touch I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops in colors that match the palette of each card. I used Strawberry Coulis (red), Limoncello (yellow) and Pale Periwinkle (lilac).

And that’s it for today 😊 I really hope you liked this set of cards and enjoyed this post. I will be back soon with another fun project and, in the meantime, I wish you all a great day!

Spicing up Scene Cards with Stencils feat Impronte d'Autore

Hi everyone! Today I am back with another mini video series showing you how to create a scene card using some marvelous stamps by Impronte d'Autore in their Alice in Wonderland collection.
I love scene cards and I have a lot of fun creating them, and this time I decided to do something different and to use stencils to give my card a more whimsical and cartoon-like look. And, I have to say, I am pretty happy with how it turned out! :)
I colored the images from the set "Regina di Cuori" (Queen of Hearts) with Spectrum Noir and Copic Markers, and I altered sligthly one of the trees to make it look as if there was some fresh red paint dripping from one of the roses. That's because I wanted my scene to capture the moment when the Playing Cards were in the process of painting the white roses with red paint to avoid being beheaded by the Queen of Hearts. Kinda scary :P

Ciao a tutti!

I then moved on to building my scene. For each landscape element, I die cut some Fabriano Bristol Smooth carstock (very similar to Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock) using a die with the shape I needed, I added color with Distress Inks, and then I used stencils to add a whimsical touch to my scene. Here is the list of all the products I used for each of the landscape elements

Foreground Hill:
Mama Elephant Landscape Trio dies
Distress Inks in Lucky Clover, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron
Skinny Chevron Stencil by Create a Smile Stamps
Avery Elle Wonky Stitches dies

Background Hill:
Mama Elephant Landscape Trio Dies
Distress Inks in Pine Needles, Lucky Clover, and Mowed Lawn

In Circles Stencil by Create a Smile Stamps

Sun:
Sun and Moon dies by Lawn Fawn
Distress Inks: Carved Pumpkin, Dried Marigold, Wild Honey
Curved Lines Stencil by Create a Smile Stamps
Spectrum Noir Markers for the Sun disk

Collina in Primo Piano:
Fustelle Landscape Trio di Mama Elephant
Distress Inks in Lucky Clover, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron
Stencil  Skinny Chevron di Create a Smile Stamps
Avery Elle Wonky Stitches dies

Collina in Secondo Piano:

Stencil In Circles di Create a Smile Stamps

Sole:
Fustelle Sun and Moon di Lawn Fawn
Distress Inks: Carved Pumpkin, Dried Marigold, Wild Honey
Stencil Curved Lines di Create a Smile Stamps
Pennarelli Spectrum Noir per il Disco Centrale

I popped up the hills and some of the trees with some craft foam, and with the images I hadn't used on my card front I decorated the inside of my card. I added the smile on the Sun using the Cheshire Cat image in the set Stregatto (i.e. Cheshire Cat) by Impronte d'Autore and doing some selective inking.
I also created a mini series on my YouTube channel where I show how I made this card. One of the videos shows the scene building process, and in the other one I share the coloring for the images in this card. You can watch it directly on watch it on my YouTube channel.
If you like it don't forget to let me know with a comment and a thumbs up, and if you'd like to see more from me you can subscribe to always stay up to date with my content! :)

And that's it for today! I really hope you liked this card and enjoyed the video!
If you did, you might want to check out this other mini series where I used other stamps from the Impronte d'Autore Alice in Wonderland series. I really love these images!
Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Distress Ink Background - Floral Card for the Create a Smile Stamps Challenge

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a floral card I made for the new Create a Smile Stamps challenge. We loved all the beautiful entries in the past two weeks, and look forward to seeing what you create next!
Without further ado, let's reveal the challenge theme!

Create a Smile Stamps has quite a range of  gorgeous floral stamps, and for this card I used the beautiful Aloha Spirit stamp set. I am already in the mood for summer, so this was the perfect choice  to daydream of sunsets at the beach. :)
As a first step I stamped my images on some Fabriano Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink, embossed them with clear embossing powder, and colored them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

For my sunset background I did some ink blending with Distress Inks in Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry and Carved Pumpkin on a piece of Fabriano Bristol Smooth Cardstock (which is very similar to Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock).
I then stamped my sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

In order to create a window on my card I cut some white cardstock using the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches dies and the Create a Smile Stamps Stacked Pierced Ovals dies. I also used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables to cut some black cardstock to a standard A2 size and create a frame for my focal panel.

And that's it for today! I really hope you like this card, and I hope you will join us and enter your creations for your chance to win a 25€ gift certificate to the Create a Smile Stamps store!
Make sure to follow the challenge rules, you can find those, along with some really gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team, on the Create a Smile Stamps blog!
Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Cheerful Birthday Card feat My Favorite Things Happy Hippos

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a card I made combining the My Favorite Things Sketch challenge with the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge. The result is a fun birthday card - and this time I could not stay away from throwing in a rainbow!
The images and the sentiment all come from the My Favorite Things Happy Hippos stamp set. I stamped them on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.

For the top portion of my card I used one of the designs from the My Favorite Things Sweet Celebration 6x6" paper pad, which I cut using the Stitched Scalloped Basic Edges Die-Namics.
I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder by Ranger and then it was time for the finishing touches. I added some white gel pen details over all the images, and I used a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Pen to add glitter to the balloons, the cupcakes, the birthday hat and the cake. Finally, I added a few Nuvo Drops in White Blizzard on the candle flames and the cake decorations.

And that's it for today! I really hope you guys liked this bright, colorful birthday card. As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I will be entering it in the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #379 and in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Happy Birthday.
I will be back soon with another fun project, and in the meantime I wish you all a great day!

Stenciled Background Shaker Card feat Studio Katia Confetti Stencil

Hi everyone! Today I am back on the Studio Katia blog with a shaker card with a stenciled background I made using the new Confetti Creative Stencil.
To start off this card I created the shaker front: I cut some smooth cardstock using the Dotted Patterns Set - 1 Creative Dies and I blended Distress Oxide in Peacock Feathers over the entire panel. I added some water splashes for a fun look, and created the opening for my shaker card using one of the dies in the Dotted Patterns: Scallop Square Creative Dies.

For the shaker background I used the Confetti Stencil and Nuvo Mousse in Coral Calypso to create a fun pattern. I used the same Nuvo Mousse to add color to both my card base, which I cut using the Dotted Patterns: Darling Ribbon Creative Dies, and to the word friend, that I cut using one of the word dies in the Spring Bouquet Coordinating Dies. For the rest of the sentiment I used the Label Messages Clear Stamp Set and its coordinating dies. I stamped it with brown ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I cut a frame from brown cardstock using the Dotted Patterns: Loops Creative Dies and then I started working on the floral element of my card. I used images from the Together We Bloom Clear Stamp Set: I heat embossed them with white embossing powder, watercolored them with Nuvo Mousses in Coral Calypso and Citrus Green. I then die cut the images with the coordinating dies.
For the shaker elements I used a mix of Majestic Confetti and Crystal Clear Confetti, because I though they would complement nicely the shaker background I created with the Confetti Stencil.

And here is a close up of that pretty shaker background!

And that's it for today! I really hope you liked this card and I hope I inspired you to create with the beautiful Confetti Stencil.
Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Faux Vellum Shaker feat My Favorite Things Recipe for Happiness

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a card I made for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge #378. The card is pretty quick to come together, but I really love the way it turned out, and I really like this color combination - I will have to find other ways to implement it!
The images I used today are from the My Favorite Things Recipe for Happiness stamp set. They were stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copic markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies.

For the card base I used some aqua cardstock that would match the color I used for my chef's clothes, and I decided to create a faux shaker card with the smaller images in the set. Why faux? Because the images are actually glued to the background. :)  However, since they are arranged in a random fashion, they give the illusion of movement behind the chef, and almost look as if they were falling, or shaking around.
The brown panel was cut using the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches dies, and to keep the main focus on the chef, I decided to use vellum for my window shaker.

I then heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on a banner I cut using the My Favorite Things Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-Namics, and for some finishing details I added a few Nuvo Drops in Simply White.

And that's it for today! I really hope you liked this card and you found this post useful.
I will be back very soon with another fun project, and in the meantime I wish you all a great day!
