Distress Oxide Ink Smooshed Rainbow feat Lawn Fawn Sweet Friends

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a quick post and a card I made with my beloved Distress Oxides and some adorable Lawn Fawn stamps.
To start off this card I stamped three S'mores from the Lawn Fawn Sweet Friends stamp set on Neenah Solar White 100lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I colored them with Spectrum Noir Markers,
I then created my rainbow background on some Ranger Watercolor cardstock using Distress Oxides and the ink smooshing technique. I used Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple.
I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Border Dies to create some more interest on my rainbow panel, and I used strips of black cardstock to separate it from the card base and achieve more contrast.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Sweet Friends stamp set, and mounted the rainbow panel on my card base using some fun foam. For even more fun dimension I popped up the three S'more images using some foam squares.

And that's my card for today :) Pretty quick to put together, but really lovely thanks to the beautiful rainbow on the background and the cute Lawn Fawn images! I will enter this project in the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #25 and in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes".

Thank you all so much for stopping by, and I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Emboss Resist with Distress Oxides - Create a Smile Challenge

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a fun card for the new challenge over at the Create a Smile Stamps blog. Once again we had some fantastic entries for the past challenge, and we are really excited to see what you are going to create next.

For today's card I used images from the new, super adorable Clear Superpowers Stamp set, the Cling Mandala set, and the Clear Friends Like You set.
I stamped that adorable fairy and the unicorn, as well as the word "friends" on some Fabriano Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink and I embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored the images with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and cut everything with my Silhouette Portrait and the Pix Scan mat. I also added some sparkle to the fairy and the unicorn with my Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay pen.

For the background I embossed the Mandala image with Nuvo Embossing Powder in Shimmering Pearl, which adds some really beatiful sparkle thanks to the glitter it contains, and then did some ink blending with Distress Oxide in Peacock Feathers. I also added some water splatters, which make me think of fairy dust being sprinkled by the fairy over the unicorn and the sentiment.

For the card base I did some more ink blending with Distress Oxide in Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry, and, to finish off the card, I heat embossed the second part of the sentiment on black cardstock using white embossing powder.

And that’s it for today! You have two weeks to enter your projects to be entered for a chance to win a 25€ gift certificate to the Create a Smile Stamps Shop. The projects must follow the challenge theme and feature at least one product by Create a Smile Stamps as the main focal point. Prjects that fail to follow the challenge rules will not be eligible to win.
Finally, if you’d like to play along but you don’t have any Create a Smile products, you can use the free digital stamps that you can find on the Create a Smile blog.

Make sure to visit the Create a Smile Stamps blog for more information and lots of inspiration from the design team. You can also join us in the Create a Smile Stamps Friends and Family Facebook group - there are monthly challenges running there too!

Easter Treat Bag and Mini Card Set feat Heffy Doodle Stamps

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a post and a video showing how to create an Easter treat bag with a coordinating mini card. For this project I used the super adorable bunnies from the Honey Bunny Boo set by Heffy Doodle Stamps, a recent favorite of mine 😍 I got quite a few of their sets and I am really looking forward to creating more with those adorable images - but for now let's talk about today's project.
Together with the stamps from the Honey Bunny Boo stamp set, I used patterned papers from the Lawn Fawn Let's Polka in the Meadow 6x6" paper pad and a bunch of dies by Craftin Desert Divas to create both the bag and the mini card.

Ciao a tutti!

For the treat bag I used the following dies:

  • Craftin Desert Divas Treat Bag Die set for the treat bag body, the light blue scalloped rectangle, and the mini tag
  • Craftin Desert Divas Outdoor Landscape 2 dies for the grassy border and the fence
I stamped the images from the Honey Bunny Boo stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink on some Windsor and Newton Cotman Drawing paper and colored them with Prismacolor Pencils.
I fussy cut them and used them to decorate the front and the back of my treat bag.
The "to you" sentiment on the mini tag is also from the Honey Bunny Boo stamp set.

For the mini card, on the other hand, I used the following dies to cut more patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn Let's Polka in the Meadow 6x6" paper pad:
  • Craftin Desert Divas Treat Bag Die set for the yellow scalloped rectangle
  • Craftin Desert Divas Outdoor Landscape 2 dies for the grassy border
  • Craftin Desert Divas Box Die for the light blue stitched rectangle
  • Craftin Desert Divas Mini Shaker Clips dies for the hearts
I used some Easter eggs that I had previously colored with Prismacolor pencils to decorate the mini card, and the happy Easter sentiment is again from the Honey Bunny Boo stamp set. Isn't that scripty Easter sooo pretty?!

I filmed a video tutorial for you showing how I created this project, you can watch it on YouTube channel! And don't forget to leave me your feedback, and, if you liked the video, to give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel!

Altering Images - From Pirate to Space Pirate feat Craftin Desert Divas

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a bit of a different video tutorial for you, which will be focused on how to alter a digital stamp and turn a pirate into a space pirate.
I shared a couple of projects in the past using this digital stamp by Craftin Desert Divas. I used the pirate in a more traditional way to create this gate-fold treasure map...

Ciao a tutti!

...and I turned him into a space pirate for this card featuring a galaxy background. I have videos for both cards, which I will link at the end of this post in case you want to check them out.

Due to popular demand, and with a somewhat embarrassing delay, I am sharing a video on my YouTube channel in which I show exactly which steps I took to alter this image. I promise, it’s easier than it seems! And if you enjoyed the video, you can let me know by leaving a comment, a thumbs up, and subscribing to my channel!

And that’s it for today! It’s a bit of a shorter post, but I believe that the video speaks for itself. I do hope you enjoyed it, and I would love to see it if you tried to do something similar! You can tag me on social media if you share your version of this project, I am @abitofmycrafts pretty much everywhere (and by the way, I would check my Instagram profile, if I were you 😉 )
If you want to check them out, you can find the post and video tutorial for the treasure map here, and for the galaxy background here. I hope you’ll enjoy those too!
Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Encouragement Card feat Studio Katia Japanese Peony

Hi everyone! It's Theme Week over at the Studio Katia blog, and for day 4 I am sharing an encouragement card featuring the beautiful Japanese Peony Clear Stamp Set.
To start off this card I stamped my images on some watercolor cardstock and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then used my Distress Oxides to do some watercoloring:  I used Aged Mahogany and Tattered Rose for the petals, Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber for the inside of the flower, and Bundled Sage and Forest Moss for the leaves. Once I was done painting I die cut everything with the Japanese Peony Coordinating Dies.

I then created a window for my card base. For the window background I did some ink smooshing with Distress Oxides in Tattered Rose and Squeezed Lemonade on some watercolor cardstock.
For the window frame I cut some vanilla cardstock using the Dotted Patterns: Darling Ribbon Creative Dies in combination with the Dotted Patterns: Set 2 Creative Dies. The Dotted Patterns: Set 2 | Creative Dies cut both the window opening and a thin frame that I inked up with some Distress Oxide in Aged Mahogany.

I raised the window front over the background with some foam tape and coated it with acetate. I then heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock andcut it with the Label Messages Coordinating Dies.  As a final step I added a few Crystal Clear Confetti on my card base and inside the window.
And that's it for today! I really hope you liked this card, and I hope I inspired you to create with the gorgeous Japanese Peony Clear Stamp Set. Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Easter Card feat Studio Katia Floral Cross | Prismacolor on Kraft

Hi everyone! Today I am back on the Studio Katia blog with an Easter card featuring the Floral Cross Clear Stamp Set and the Script Easter die.
To start off this card I created the front frame: and the frame inserts: I used the the Dotted Patterns: Darling Ribbon Creative Dies to cut some vanilla cardstock to an A2 size, and one of the dies in the the Dotted Patterns: Set 2 Creative Dies  to create three rectangular windows on this panel. I then used this same die to cut three panels from some kraft cardstock.

Next, I stamped the images in the Floral Cross Clear Stamp Set set on the corners of two of the kraft cardstock rectangles. I used brown ink for the stamping, and colored in the flowers with Prismacolor pencils.
I cut the word "Easter" out of some brown cardstock using the Script Easter die, and I cut two banners with another die from the Dotted Patterns: Set 2 Creative Dies, one from vanilla cardstock, and one from brown cardstock.

I stamped the word "blessings" from the Floral Cross stamp set on the vanilla banner using brown ink, and then glued all the elements to an A2 card base.
I have to say, had a lot of fun creating this card and trying to find a creative way to use this beautiful floral set. And by changing the sentiment you can stretch the use this set even beyond Easter cards! Isn't it great?
And that's it for today! I really hope you like this card and I hope I inspired you to create with the gorgeous Floral Cross Clear Stamp Set. Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Hi everyone! It’s time for a new challenge over at the Create a Smile Stamps blog, and this time it’s all about spring! We enjoyed seeing all your wonderful creations for the last challenge, and can’t wait to see what you make next!

For today’s card I used the adorable critters in the Eggstraordinary Egghunt to create a fun masked scene, that I painted with my Gandai Tambi watercolors. The images are stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a piece of Canson XL watercolor cardstock.
The sentiment comes from the Crokisses set, and I stamped it with Memento ink in London Fog.
To add a pop of color I finished off my card with some Nuvo Drops in Key Lime.

And that’s it for today! Remember that you have two weeks to enter your projects for a chance to win a 25€ gift certificate to the Create a Smile Stamps Shop. Shaker Card "off the Edge" con Impronte d'Autore

Ciao a tutti!

Hi everyone! Today I am back with another post for my collaboration with Impronte d’Autore, for which I created a card and a step by step video tutorial showing how to make it. You will find the video at the end of this page, but let’s proceed with order.
First, I would like to thank Impronte d'Autore once again for this wonderful opportunity. I really don't know how to express how happy I feel about it, and I hope that the projects I made do justice to this great brand.
If you want to take a look at the first cards I created for this collaboration, you can click on
this link.
And, once you are done with this post, I suggest you take a look at all the wonderful products in the Impronte d'Autore online store :)

I don’t know about you, but I am already looking forward to summer and can’t wait for sunny days and warmer temperatures to come! To ease the wait I decided to use images frome the Impronte d’Autore plates Giochi tra le Onde and W le Vacanze to create a sea-themed shaker card. 😊

As a first step I created the background for my shaker with my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I then heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder before coloring them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I added glitter to the mermaid's tail to give an extra touch to this super adorable charachter.
I used Nuvo Drops in Sea Breeze to embellish the front of the card - these drops make me think of underwater air bubbles and are just perfect to go with the theme of today's project. :)

For the shaker windows I used a mix of seed beads and sequins, and I picked colors that match my images and my background.
What makes this shaker special is that one of the windows is not contained within the card front, but  falls on the edge of the card. You can use a Fuse tool to create something like this, but today I wanted to show you that you don't need any specific tool to create this kind of card. If you want to find out more, you can watch the video tutorial on my YouTube channel. And don't forget to let me know what you think about it, and, if you like, to subscribe to my channel!

<-->

And that's it for today! I really hope you liked this card and enjoyed the video, and I hope I inspired you to create your own off-the edge shaker cards! I will be back soon with another fun project, and in the meantime I wish you all a sunny day!

Studio Katia March Release Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi everyone! Today I am really excited to be back with this post, part of the Studio Katia March Release Blog Hop! This is a two-day celebration with tons of inspiration and prizes along the way, so make sure to read this post until the end to find out more!
For my project today I used images from the Whimsical Town set, which is one of my favorite sets in this amazing release!

I created the background panel by blending Distress Oxides in Blueprint Sketch and Shaded Lilac over some Bristol Smooth Cardstock. I added water droplets for a fun look.
I then colored the houses and the clouds from the Whimsical Town set with Spectrum Noir markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I adhered some of them flat onto my background, and I raised a few with some foam tape.

I popped up the panel on my card base with some craft foam, and framed it with some gray cardstock strips. I added white gel pen highlights to the houses, and scattered a lot of the gorgeous, newly released Iridescent Bubbles all over the sky.
I stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card, and I also stamped a few houses around it with Memento ink in London Fog.

I also created a video tutorial for this card, you can watch it down below. Don’t forget to let me know what you think about it! And if you want to see more from me, you can subscribe to my channel by clicking on the button below :) Thank you so much! :)
