You Can Do Magic - Encouragement Card for the Create a Smile Stamps Challenge

Hi everyone! Today I am super excited to be back here on my blog, as it is time for a new card making challenge over at the Create a Smile Stamps blog! We really enjoyed seeing all the wonderful projects that were entered in the previous challenge, and we are siper curious to see what you will be creating this time around! So, without further ado, let’s get started with our second challenge!

The challenge theme inspired me to create an encouragement card, and I decided to combine the Message in a Bottle stamp set with one of the sentiments in the Magical Flowers stamp set. This card would be perfect to give to someone special who’s going through a rough time, to remind them of all the wonderful things they are capable of!
To start off, I stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on some Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored them with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. I added glitter to the genie with a Spectrum Noir clear overlay pen and a few highlights with a white gel pen.
For the background I used the ink smooshing technique with Distress Oxides in Faded Jeans, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet. The background panel itself is some Windsor and Newton Cotman Watercolor cardstock that I cut with a die by Avery Elle. For the stars I mixed some glitter to my Ranger texture paste, and I applied it over the background using the Waves of Stars stencil and a spatula. I left it aside to dry.
I then used the Pierced Ovals Creative Cuts to cut some heavyweight white cardstock. For some extra subtle detail I stamped the Sophisticated Shells background stamp with Versamark ink over the oval die cut as well as my white card base. It’s not very noticeable in the pictures, but in real life it adds a really nice touch! I stamped my sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and, for some added dimension, I adhered the oval die cut to my background with some foam tape.

And that’s it for today! I really hope you liked this card and enjoyed the post! Don’t forget that you can enter your projects using at least one Create a Smile Stamps product for a chance to win a 25€ gift certificate to the Create a Smile Stamps Shop (check out their freebies in case you’d like to play along and you don’t own any of their products...yet :P ). You can find the challenge guidelines and more information on how to play along on the Create a Smile Stamps blog, as well as some really wonderful inspiration from the whole design team! And if you haven’t yet, you can join the Create a Smile Stamps Friends and Family Facebook group - hope to see you there!

Valentine's Day Shaker Card Trio feat Lawn Fawn Stamps

Hi everyone! Today I am back with the second installment in my Valentine 2018 card making video series! For this project I decided to make a really fun trio of heart shaped shaker cards, inspired by the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge. I used critters from three different Lawn Fawn stamp sets: the Octopi my Heart, the Winter Unicorn and the Winter Otter set, and I created cute little couples to go on each card.
I started off by stamping my images on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers.
For the shaker backgrounds I cut some Windsor and Newton Cotman watercolor carstock using the Sizzix Heart Framelits. I used Distress Inks and the ink smooshing technique to create two ocean backgrounds , one for the octopi and one for the otters, and one sky background for the unicorns. I then added more texture with some stencils by My Favorite Things and Create a Smile Stamps.
For the shaker windows I used some Doodlebug patterned paper from the Cream and Sugar and the Kittens Smittens 6x6” paper pads, which I cut by nesting two different Heart Framelits. I filled each shaker with a mix of Sequins and sead beads. I used the Craftin Desert Divas Shimmer Mix sequins and some aqua seed beads for the shakers with the octopi and the otters, and the Fairy Dust sequin mix, also by Craftin Desert Divas, and some white seed beads.
For the sentiments I did some selective stamping using Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and in Love Letters.
I used the we belong together saying from the Lawn Fawn Milk and Cookies set for the shaker card with the otters...

For the shaker with the Octopi I used the You Octopi my Heart sentiment...

...and for the shaker card with the unicorns I changed up the sentiment that comes in the set, which reads all I want for Christmas is you, to all I want is you, so that it would work on a Valentine's day card.

For a finishing touch I added some white gel pen detail to all my images and a bit of sparkle with my Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Pen.
I also filmed a video tutorial showing how to create these fun shaker cards and their heart shaped card bases, that you can click here to watch it on my YouTube channel! And that's it for today! I really hope you like these cards and enjoyed the video! I will be back soon with another fun project, and in the meantime I wish you all a great day!

Have a Roaring Birthday - Shaker Card feat Studio Katia Stamps and Dies

Birthday-Shaker-Card-feat-Studio-Katia-Birthday-Lions

Hello everyone! Today I am back with a fun and colorful shaker card for the Studio Katia blog featuring the Birthday Lions Clear Stamp Set. To start off this card I stamped my images on Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock  with Versafine Onyx Black ink and I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then colored them in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies.

For the shaker part of my card I cut some white cardstock using the Dotted Patterns Scallop Frames and the Stitched Creative Window Creative Dies. I added color to the shaker background using Distress Inks, and for the shaker elements themselves I used a super fun mix of Crystal Clear Confetti, Majestic Sequin Fusion and Clear Dust Seed Beads.
I also repeatedly stamped some of the smaller images in Birthday Lions stamp set using Distress Oxides in the same colors of my shaker background.

Finally, I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder over some black cardstock, and I used one of the dies in the Best Ever die set to cut out a fun banner.
And that’s it for today's card! I really hope you enjoyed it, and I hope I inspired you to create your own fun birthday cards with the Studio Katia Birthday Lions Clear Stamp Set. Thank you all so much for stopping by,  and have a great day!

Valentine's Day 2018 Card Series - In the Clouds Scene feat C.C. Designs

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a cute Valentine’s day card featuring the adorable C.C. Designs Roberto’s Rascals Cupids! These digis are incredibly cute, and I hade loads of fun putting this card together! I also created a video tutorial for this card, you will find it at the end of this post :) But for now let’s go through the card making process.
For the clouds and the sky I used Bristol Smooth cardstock by Fabriano. This is very similar to the Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock: it has the same kind of sleek surface, which makes blending with Distress Inks really easy. I cut the sky panel with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Elle-Ments dies and inked it with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.
For the cloud borders I used one of the dies in the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio die set and Distress Ink in Spun Sugar. I repeated the same steps for the two little clouds in the sky, that I cut using the Lawn Fawn Puffy Clouds dies.
I also cut a cloud border and a few puffy clouds from some vellum to do some layering later on.

The cupids are digital stamps by C.C. Designs, but they are also available as physical stamps. The heart popping out from the clouds is from the Studio Katia Sweet Heart Candy stamp set. I colored all the images with Spectrum Noir and Copic markers -  in the video tutorial you will find the list of colors that I used for each section. I also wanted to let you know that you can find a free comparison chart between Copics, Spectrum Noir markers, Promarkers, Prismacolor pencils and Polychromos pencils on the Kit and Clowder website! I think it is really an amazing resource!

I die cut the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn Love You Border die, which I cut from the same dark gray cardstock as my card base. The base itself measures 4 1/4 by 5 1/5".
Finally, I added some glitter to all the hearts in this sweet scene using my Spectrum Noir clear overlay pen.

If you want to see the step by step process for this card you can watch the video on my YouTube channel by clicking on this link

And if you enjoy it, I would love it if you let me know by leaving me a comment or a thumbs up...or both :) And of course you can subscribe to my channel if you want to see more from me :)

And that’s it for today! I really hope you guys liked my card and enjoyed the video! I will link again the free Kit and Clowder color comparison chart in case you want to check it out! Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Dimensional Tag for the First Create a Smile Stamps Card Making Challenge

Hello everyone! Today I am back with a very special post, as this is my first project as part of the Create a Smile Stamps Challenge Design Team! If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook you will know by now that Create a Smile Stamps is launching a new card making challenge, and that I was selected, together with some really amazing crafters, to be part of the team that will be sharing inspiration for each challenge. I was really excited to be accepted on the team, and really impatient to get started - and the day has finally come! Welcome to the first challenge on the Create a Smile Stamps blog!

The theme for this week’s challenge is Tag It! so I decided to create a tag, and to spice it up a little by adding lots of fun dimension with foam tape.
To start off I stamped three of the leaves from the Create a Smile Stamps Time to Say Thanks stamp  set on some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then colored them in with Prismacolor pencils and cut them with my Cutterbee Scissors.
I cut the base of my tag from some more Neenah Desert Storm cardstock with a die by Craftin Desert Divas and added some splatters with using white acrylic paint.

For the sentiment I used the for you saying from the Create a Smile Stamps Happy Days stamp set and I heat embossed it with white embossing powder on some black cardstock.
To create dimension on the leaves I used a double layer of foam tape on the tip of each leave, a single layer of foam tape in the center, and I glued down the bottoms directly onto the tag. This way they stand out nicely from the surface of the tag, and at the same time they are supported all the way through. As a finishing touch I added some white Nuvo drops and some white embroidery floss.

If you are curious to see how I created this dimensional tag you can watch the process video on my YouTube channel by clicking here

And don’t forget to let me know what you think about it - your feedback is really important to me and very appreciated! :)
And that’s it for today! I really hope you liked this tags and enjoyed the video! Don’t forget that you can enter your projects using at least one Create a Smile Stamps product for a chance to win a 25€ gift certificate to the Create a Smile Stamps Shop (and by the way, did you see their international shipping rates? I wish international shipping could always be so affordable!). You can find the challenge guidelines and more information on how to play along on the Create a Smile Stamps blog, as well as some really wonderful inspiration from the whole design team! And if you haven’t yet, you can join the Create a Smile Stamps Friends and Family Facebook group - it’s a really lovely place with a super friendly atmosphere! :)

I hope to meet you guys there and we are all looking forward to seeing your creations!
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Valentine's Card feat Studio Katia Kobi's Hugs and Kisses

Valentine's day card feat Studio Katia

Hello everyone! After a long Christmas break I am super excited to be back with this sweet Valentine’s day card! It's Theme week over at the Studio Katia blog, and the theme is Hearts/Valentines, so I decided to combine the new the new Kobi’s Hugs and Kisses stamp set with the Sweet Heart Candy stamp set - they work perfectly together!
As a first step, I stamped images from the Kobi's Hugs and Kisses set on some Neenah Solar White cardstock, I colored them with alcohol markers and cut them with the coordinating dies. I also added some highlights with a white gel pen.

Valentine's day card feat Studio Katia - Close up

For the background panel I cut some Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock using the Dotted Patterns: Loops Creative Dies. I did some ink blending with Distress Inks and added water splashes for some extra interest.
The card base is some dark gray cardstock that I cut with the rectangle die in the Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames Creative Dies set.

I then adhered everything together, and, as a last step, I stamped several of the sentiments in the Sweet Heart Candy stamp set using Versamark ink.
And that’s it for today’s card! I really hope you liked it and I hope I inspired you to create with these wonderful Studio Katia products!
Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!
